Svedka Vodka aired the first primarily AI generated commercial in Super Bowl history on February 8, 2026, and the reaction from viewers ran sharply negative. The 30 second spot revived the brand mascot known as Fembot after more than a decade and paired her with a new male robot character called Brobot. The two robots dance in a night club to Super Freak by Rick James as a human crowd gathers around them. Near the end of the spot, the male robot tries to drink a red cocktail and the liquid pours through its mouth and down a gap near its throat.

Apart from the song, the commercial was produced using generative AI. Sara Saunders, chief marketing officer at Sazerac, the company that owns Svedka, said ahead of the game that the ad would blend human creativity and dance moves with modern technology.

Social media reaction turned critical within minutes of the broadcast. Commenters focused on the sloppiness of the animation and the uncanny appearance of the two robots, and users on X described the spot as one of the worst Super Bowl ads ever aired. Yahoo Entertainment reported that the ad was universally panned by viewers.

Silverside AI, one of the studios that produced the commercial, also worked on the AI generated Coca Cola holiday campaign from November 2024 that drew similar criticism when animals reacted to a line of delivery trucks. Sazerac has not announced any change to the campaign.
