Anthropic introduced Claude for Small Business on May 13, 2026, a package of prebuilt workflows and connectors designed to put AI tools into the hands of small and mid-sized companies that have historically had limited access to enterprise-grade automation.

The offering runs inside the Claude desktop application through a plugin for Claude Cowork, Anthropic's agentic work environment. The package includes 15 skill workflows covering payroll planning, month-end financial reconciliation, invoice chasing, sales campaign execution, and employee onboarding. Connectors link Claude to Intuit QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, DocuSign, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Square, Stripe, Slack, and Webflow.

Lina Ochman, Anthropic's head of US small business growth, said the company built the product after hundreds of conversations with small business owners revealed a consistent set of pain points that AI tools had not addressed. The invoice chase skill -- which monitors whether customer invoices have been paid and drafts follow-up communications -- came directly from conversations with small business owners managing billing manually.

Anthropic also launched a free 14-lecture AI fluency course through the Skilljar platform, giving business owners educational context for applying the tools to their specific operations. The company is running a nationwide demonstration tour alongside the product launch.

Claude for Small Business is available to all Claude subscribers with access to Cowork. Anthropic described the release as its effort to reach businesses outside the venture-backed startup and enterprise segments that have dominated AI product adoption so far.
