Atlanta entrepreneur Hussain Punjani has launched Agentix, a startup building infrastructure that lets shoppers complete a purchase directly inside an AI chat conversation. As more consumers turn to ChatGPT, Claude, and other large language models to research products, Agentix wants to close the gap between product discovery and checkout.
Today, a shopper who finds a product inside a chat still gets redirected to the merchant's website, where they navigate forms, logins, and extra clicks before completing a purchase they had already decided on. Agentix collapses that sequence into a process that runs entirely inside the AI conversation.
Rather than sign merchants one at a time, Agentix partners directly with the e-commerce platforms merchants already use. Punjani describes the company's role as an agentic managed service provider that enables the integration on behalf of the platform, so one partnership brings checkout-in-chat to every merchant on that platform without added engineering work on their end.
Punjani, a University of Georgia and Emory University MBA graduate, built his career at Visa, FIS, InComm Payments, and AIG before founding Agentix, which is currently raising a pre-seed round. The company's early customers span online retail, event and travel booking, and restaurant platforms. Punjani said he sees agentic commerce following the same adoption curve e-commerce followed in 2000, and described the company's long-term goal as building toward agent-to-agent commerce, where AI systems transact directly with each other on a shopper's behalf.
