Atlanta-based CallRail announced a major expansion of its Voice Assist product on July 28, making the AI-powered lead engagement tool available to any business, even those that do not use CallRail's call tracking platform, and adding automated texting for missed calls and messages. The company says businesses using Voice Assist see 44 percent more answered calls, with leads seven times more likely to engage than when routed to voicemail.
Until now, Voice Assist was only offered alongside CallRail's call tracking product. Under the expansion, a small business without a call tracking subscription can put Voice Assist on an existing phone number and have every call and text answered, then add tracking and attribution later as its marketing grows. New features include a shared conversation memory that lets the AI recall a customer's prior calls and texts, so a caller who reaches out again later does not have to reintroduce themselves.
CallRail reports that 28 percent of business calls go unanswered on average, often because staff are busy with another customer or away from the phone. The company positions Voice Assist as a way to give every caller an immediate response instead of a delayed callback.
CallRail, founded in Atlanta and now approaching 300 employees, serves more than 225,000 businesses and plans to relocate to a larger headquarters at 725 Ponce de Leon Avenue in early 2027. The expansion reflects a broader shift among marketing technology vendors toward AI tools that handle customer conversations directly rather than only tracking and attributing them.
