ibi, a business unit of Cloud Software Group, launched a conversational agentic AI assistant inside its WebFOCUS Data and Analytics Platform on August 24, 2026, at the company's annual customer summit in New York City. The assistant ships in WebFOCUS 9.3.8 and moves the platform from static chart viewing toward autonomous root cause analysis.

The new assistant generates and executes custom visual reports, charts, and interactive dashboards from plain English requests. It also runs background queries to identify why a metric changed and recommends operational steps to business leaders, while still exposing the underlying query logic, schemas, and data sources for technical teams who need to verify the output.

ibi built the assistant to connect to commercial large language model subscriptions, including those from OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, so customers can route requests through the AI provider already licensed inside their organization. The company positioned the tool as a developer co-navigator as well, capable of authoring and debugging code from plain English prompts.

Daniel Ortolani, senior vice president and general manager at ibi, said enterprise chief technology officers need an agentic engine that can author visual reports and diagnose root causes in real time.

The launch places ibi alongside a wider group of business intelligence and marketing technology vendors moving reporting tools from passive dashboards toward agents that act on data directly. ibi did not release adoption figures, customer counts, or time to value data alongside the announcement. The platform was listed as available at launch.
