New forecasts from Statista Market Insights show the global AI market growing from close to $255 billion in 2025 to roughly $1.22 trillion by 2030, a more than fourfold increase over five years. The projections, published in October and detailed in a Statista analysis this month, break the market into five segments: machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, autonomous and sensor technology, and AI robotics.
Machine learning and natural language processing remain the two largest segments through the forecast window, together accounting for more than half of total market value in every year measured. By 2030 the combined AI market is projected to reach 1,219 billion dollars, up from 888 billion in 2029, 648 billion in 2028, 474 billion in 2027 and 347 billion in 2026.
Computer vision, autonomous and sensor technology, and AI robotics are described as the most dynamic segments of the forecast, each expected to grow faster than the market average over the next five years. Statista attributes the acceleration to advances in algorithms and infrastructure alongside sustained investment in research and development, along with rising adoption of AI driven tools across enterprise, healthcare and consumer markets.
For businesses evaluating AI investment timing, the forecast suggests the spending curve is still early. Less than a quarter of the projected 2030 market value has been realized so far, meaning most of the AI buildout, and the budget commitments that come with it, sit ahead of most organizations rather than behind them.
