DeltaX, a Seoul-based provider of advanced battery energy storage systems, will invest $141 million and create approximately 250 jobs at a new North American manufacturing headquarters in Walton County, Georgia. Governor Brian Kemp announced the project on August 17.
The company develops battery energy storage systems, battery management systems, and AI-driven energy management technologies. Its products serve utility-scale projects, renewable energy integration, AI data centers, and commercial, industrial, and OEM customers. DeltaX said its platform combines proprietary battery engineering, thermal management, embedded software, and artificial intelligence.
"The decision by DeltaX to locate its headquarters here and further grow Georgia's energy sector is another testament to our position at the forefront of innovation and emerging technology," Kemp said. He credited the state's research universities, workforce training programs, and energy infrastructure for the win.
The investment arrives while electricity demand from data center construction reshapes energy planning across the state. The Georgia Public Service Commission approved nearly 10,000 megawatts of additional generating capacity, with roughly 80 percent of it expected to serve large customers including data centers. Storage systems of the type DeltaX manufactures are used by utilities and large power users to shift load and steady supply.
Walton County sits east of metro Atlanta along the US 78 corridor between Gwinnett County and Athens.
