KIBO Commerce, a composable commerce and order management platform based in Austin, Texas, announced general availability of KIBO AI on August 6, 2026, an updated agentic layer that consolidates nine separate AI agents from its earlier release into one interface spanning five functions: Engage, Configure, Explain, Analyse, and Optimise.
The system runs on a single data model that connects commerce and order management, which KIBO says lets every function draw on the same real-time data rather than separate silos. The company built the platform around a Bring Your Own Model approach, letting clients plug in OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or open-weight models and switch between them without rebuilding the underlying system.
Chief Product Officer Eric Rosado said the company made a deliberate choice to give clients one agentic experience, one data model connecting commerce and order management, and the freedom to choose any AI model they trust.
The Optimise function is the platform's most autonomous piece. It continuously monitors variables such as inventory allocation and tunes system parameters against goals the operations team sets, without requiring a person to adjust settings manually. A feature called Playbooks lets teams save plain-language instructions, such as drafting a product description when one is missing, that the system then runs on a schedule or automatically when a triggering event occurs.
The move reflects a broader shift among commerce and marketing platforms toward model-agnostic architecture, giving buyers a separate negotiating position on the model layer, distinct from the platform contract itself. KIBO counts Ace Hardware, Zwilling, and REEDS Jewelers among its clients.
