PubMatic, the Nasdaq-listed ad tech company behind the AgenticOS platform, launched a five-step governance architecture for autonomous advertising campaigns on August 5, 2026. The framework gives advertisers and agencies configurable control over how AI agents execute ad campaigns while keeping every decision auditable.

The system operates on two tiers. PubMatic sets platform-wide constraints that apply to every agent, and buyers layer their own policies on top, covering budget limits, creative approval rules, inventory allowlists, and audience restrictions. When an agent reaches a decision outside its approved authority, the platform pauses the action and routes it to an authorized human for approval through a one-time passcode, building an audit trail of every intervention.

Rise, a Quad agency, is among the first agency partners piloting the framework after running its first agentic campaign on AgenticOS. Klaudia Smykowska, Group Director of Media Investment at Rise, said the architecture reflects the structured, auditable approach agencies need to deploy autonomous buying with confidence.

PubMatic reported that AgenticOS has already supported more than 80 autonomous campaigns across more than 100,000 websites, apps, and streaming services since its January 2026 debut, with advertisers seeing gains in fee efficiency and campaign setup speed. The launch adds to a growing set of transparency tools PubMatic has built into the platform, including a Fee Transparency Agent and a Detailed Reasoning Agent, as agencies push for accountability standards to keep pace with the shift toward autonomous ad buying.
