Warner Bros. Discovery has overhauled its advertising technology stack with expanded agentic artificial intelligence capabilities built with Amazon Web Services, according to Marketing Dive.

The rebuilt stack applies AI agents across media planning, dynamic forecasting, real time campaign optimization and closed loop measurement. The company is also using the system to streamline ad buying across linear television and digital inventory, which historically required separate workflows and separate teams.

The move places Warner Bros. Discovery among a set of large media owners restructuring internal operations around agent based automation rather than adding AI features to existing tools. The distinction matters operationally, since agentic systems execute multi step tasks and pass results between stages without a human handoff at each point.

Broader adoption of the approach remains uneven. Goodway Group's director of strategic partnerships told Marketing Dive that AI agents will take more time before they become a seamless part of modern media buying. The reliability question is structural. Large language models asked the same question five times with identical context can produce five different answers, because the models are probabilistic by design. That characteristic suits open ended creative tasks and creates difficulty when budget is being committed automatically.

Other developments across the sector during the same period included PubMatic and Optable applying AI to help publishers convert first party data into new advertising deals and expand buyer reach, and OpenAI announcing a conversions API alongside the public launch of its self serve advertising manager.
