AAR Corp. held a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 17, 2026, to mark the completion of an expansion at its airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at Miami International Airport. The project adds more than 100,000 square feet of hangar and shop space to the company's existing footprint at the airport.
The expanded facility supports three additional heavy maintenance lines and was built to meet the maintenance capacity needs of a long-term commercial airline customer. Company officials said the new space is expected to induct its first aircraft this autumn. The project also creates 200 new full-time positions at the Miami site, adding to AAR's existing workforce in Miami-Dade County.
The expansion reflects continued investment in South Florida's aviation maintenance sector, where several MRO providers have added capacity in recent years to keep pace with rising demand for heavy checks and airframe work. Miami International Airport has become one of the busiest hubs in the country for aircraft maintenance activity, supported by its cargo traffic, proximity to Latin American carriers and established base of aviation employers.
