Boeing's 2026 Commercial Services Market Outlook forecasts that the worldwide market for aviation support and services, including aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification work, will be worth $4.9 trillion over the 20-year period from 2026 through 2045. The forecast groups the services market into four segments: maintenance, repair, overhaul and modifications; parts and supply chain; training and professional services; and digital solutions and analytics for fleet maintenance and operations.

Boeing points to aircraft production delays, tight parts supply chains, and a shortage of skilled labor as factors that are extending how long airlines must operate older aircraft, which in turn increases demand for MRO and modification services on existing fleets. Used serviceable material is expected to play a larger role as a lower-cost, certificated parts source amid those supply constraints.

Digitalization is reshaping the MRO segment as well. Boeing projects that more than 90 percent of the global commercial fleet will be e-enabled by 2045, a shift the company says is moving maintenance providers from reactive repair work toward predictive maintenance built on connectivity, cloud infrastructure and data analytics.

Boeing also expects the geography of services demand to shift over the forecast period, with South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa driving a larger share of maintenance, parts, and training demand as their fleets expand, while North America and Europe continue to lead in specialized maintenance and engineering work tied to fleet renewal.
