Envoy Air will open a new aircraft maintenance base at Huntsville International Airport in Huntsville, Alabama. MRO Business Today reported the plan on November 6. The facility will support Envoy's Embraer E-Jet fleet, which the article describes as growing, and it is expected to become operational in the second quarter of 2027.
The base will provide line maintenance and overnight maintenance and will include an on-site Inventory Control team. Aircraft Maintenance Technicians stationed at the site will maintain the E-Jet fleet and support aircraft availability and operational reliability. The article does not give a dollar figure for the investment, a headcount for the Huntsville base or the size of the facility.
The Huntsville base follows Envoy's planned crewmember and line maintenance base at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Both projects are part of a wider effort to strengthen the airline's operational and maintenance infrastructure.
Dee Temples, senior vice president of Air Operations at Envoy, said the added maintenance capacity will support the expanding E-Jet fleet. Temples also credited Envoy's maintenance technicians with supporting fleet safety and regulatory compliance.
Envoy operates more than 1,000 daily flights to over 190 destinations across North America, Central America and the Caribbean. Its Maintenance and Technical Services operations employ more than 1,500 Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, Inspector Mechanics, management personnel and other staff. Envoy also uses maintenance vendors across the United States to supplement its in-house work.
