Gulfstream Aerospace welcomed more than 60 recent high school graduates into its structured apprenticeship program, adding the latest cohort to the company's workforce development pipeline for business aviation.

The incoming apprentices come from 20 schools across eight counties in Georgia and South Carolina. Participants complete a multi-year program combining on-the-job training at Gulfstream's facilities with technical instruction aimed at preparing them for careers in aviation manufacturing, maintenance, and systems integration.

Gulfstream's apprenticeship initiative responds to a persistent shortage of trained technicians and manufacturing workers across the US aviation sector. Industry organizations have warned that aging workforce demographics and sustained fleet growth are widening the gap between demand for qualified aviation personnel and available certified workers.

The program creates direct pipelines from regional secondary schools into skilled technical roles, reducing dependence on four-year degree pathways that often bypass aviation-specific credentials.

Gulfstream, headquartered in Savannah, Georgia, manufactures and services the G-series family of large-cabin business jets. The company operates maintenance and service facilities across the United States, supporting airframe, engine, and avionics work for its customer fleet.
