Heartwood Partners, a middle market private equity firm based in Norwalk, Connecticut, has made a growth investment in The Xtreme Group, an independent aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul platform headquartered in Miami, Florida. The firm announced the deal on September 22, 2026, and said the investment closed on May 29, 2026.

The Xtreme Group, known as TXG, was founded in 2013. It operates through three subsidiaries. Xtreme Aviation LLC holds an FAA Part 145 repair station certificate and provides airframe maintenance, repair, modification and line maintenance at major U.S. airports. Ignite Aero Engines focuses on CFM56 turbine engine maintenance and overhaul. Aventus Air Leasing II buys, refurbishes, sells and leases aircraft and engines.

TXG serves mainly cargo and commercial operators, along with charter customers. Its services span airframe heavy maintenance, engine work, line maintenance and aircraft on ground support.

The current management team, led by Chief Executive Officer Carlos Cock, will continue to run the company. Heartwood said the capital will support expansion into new geographies and service lines and add capacity. The firm also said it sees room to grow TXG through add-on acquisitions.

Heartwood manages more than $1.4 billion in investments and commitments as of the end of 2025. It is investing from its fourth fund and uses a lower debt approach that pairs with continuing management teams. Heartwood said its partners first met Cock at an annual MRO industry show.

The deal adds to a steady run of private equity activity in U.S. aviation maintenance, where investors are backing independent shops that handle engine and airframe work for older aircraft types. The CFM56 engine family that Ignite Aero Engines supports remains one of the most widely used engines in the global commercial fleet.
