Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik, has signed a new multi-year agreement with PSA Airlines for CF34-8 engine services. MRO Business Today reported the renewal on November 5. The article does not state the contract length or value.
The agreement continues a relationship between the two companies that has lasted more than 26 years. MRO Business Today describes it as one of the longest-standing customer relationships in AERO Alzey's CF34 engine business.
PSA Airlines is a regional carrier. The agreement covers engines on 154 Bombardier CRJ aircraft, made up of 60 CRJ700s and 94 CRJ900s. All of those aircraft are powered by CF34-8 engines.
The scope of work includes engine maintenance, performance restoration shop visits, on-site support, life-limited-part replacement shop visits and module shop visits. Each category covers a different type of engine work, from restoring performance to replacing parts that carry a fixed usage limit and servicing individual engine modules.
Matthew Key, vice president of technical operations strategy and sourcing at PSA Airlines, and Judith Wedlich-Blender, chief operations officer at AERO Alzey, both commented on the renewal in the announcement.
The renewal places a regional airline fleet of 154 CRJ aircraft on a continuing engine maintenance arrangement with a single provider, extending a working relationship that began more than two decades ago.
