The centerpiece is Delta TechOps, based at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Fulton County, which operates as the largest MRO provider in North America and serves as Delta Air Lines' primary technical operations arm.
The county footprint extends beyond the main airport. Duncan Aviation runs an Atlanta satellite shop at Fulton County Executive Airport, also known as Charlie Brown Field, supporting aircraft across Georgia and neighboring Southeastern states. Cobb County adds McCollum Airport and Dobbins Air Reserve Base, giving the metro area a mix of commercial, business, and military aviation activity within a compact radius.
That density matters for maintenance providers weighing where to locate. Proximity to a major carrier hub, a deep technician labor pool, and multiple general aviation fields lowers the cost of moving aircraft between facilities. Priority Jet's shift into Cobb County reflects that logic, placing specialized Citation service nearer to operators who fly in and out of the north metro corridor.
