The US Navy has awarded a Massachusetts-based propeller manufacturer a multiyear contract worth more than fifty six million dollars for inspection and repair work, according to a Department of Defense contract announcement this week. Bird-Johnson Propeller Company, based in Walpole, Massachusetts, received the firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity award to support the Navy's 2SCOG program.
The contract, valued at approximately fifty six million dollars, covers propeller inspection and repair services and runs through September 2031. Two companies submitted competing bids for the work before the award was finalized, according to the notice. At the time of the award, roughly five hundred sixty five thousand dollars in fiscal year 2026 operations and maintenance funding was obligated, with that portion of the funds set to expire at the close of the fiscal year.
The award is one of several maintenance and repair contracts detailed in the Department of Defense's latest round of contract announcements, which also included work spanning environmental remediation, engineering services and other sustainment programs across military branches.
