StandardAero has signed an agreement with Arajet, the flagship carrier of the Dominican Republic, to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for the CFM International LEAP-1B engines that power the airline's growing fleet of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The work will run through StandardAero's 810,000 square foot facility in San Antonio, Texas, where the company holds Premier MRO status for the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engine family.
Under the deal, Arajet gains access to performance restoration shop visits, quick turn shop visits, component repairs, short term engine leases and engine health monitoring data analysis. StandardAero signed the first non-airline CFM Branded Service Agreement in the Americas for the LEAP family in March 2023 and began quick turn shop visit services the following year.
Sebastien Maury, StandardAero's sales director for South America, said the company is glad to add Arajet to a growing list of operators across Latin America, North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and the Asia-Pacific region that rely on it for CFM LEAP MRO work. Arajet's vice president of fleet, Istvan Jambor, said the agreement gives the airline access to a broad range of LEAP-1B maintenance capabilities as its fleet and route network expand.
StandardAero's Component Repair Services team has industrialized more than 475 repairs for the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B, and the San Antonio site runs an in-house Aviation Mechanic Training Program to grow its technician ranks. Arajet began operations in 2022 and flies from Santo Domingo and Punta Cana.
