StandardAero has widened the scope of business aviation airframe work at its Van Nuys, California, facility, adding authorized support for several Bombardier Global models. The site can now carry out airframe inspections, structural repairs and avionics services on the Global Express, Global Express XRS, Global 5000, Global 6000 and Global 7500.
The California base has concentrated on long-range business jets for decades and has served Gulfstream operators for more than 25 years. The company said it is putting money into workforce development and additional tooling at the site to handle the wider model list.
"Our Van Nuys site has decades of Gulfstream MRO experience, and we're excited to enhance our service offering by adding another large-cabin aircraft with the Global family," said Giovanni Spitale, president of StandardAero Business Aviation.
Work on Global airframes has already started at the location, covering inspection and repair events, Starlink connectivity installations on Global 5000 aircraft and line maintenance on the Rolls-Royce BR710 engine. The company also reports supporting a customer that operates a multi-aircraft Global fleet. As a Rolls-Royce authorized service center for the BR710, which powers most of the Global line, StandardAero performs engine line maintenance at the field and dispatches technicians through its Mobile Service Team.
More than 1,200 Global aircraft have been delivered worldwide, with over 600 of them in North America, giving the Van Nuys base a sizable regional customer pool. The facility holds FAA, EASA, AFAC and TCCA approvals. Global aircraft maintenance and modification work is also handled at the company's Springfield, Illinois site, which carries FAA Organization Designation Authorization and engineering support.
