StandardAero has completed a 60 percent expansion of its business aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility at Augusta Regional Airport in Augusta, Georgia, adding 80,500 square feet of space that includes a new hangar, an engine shop, advanced avionics capability, and updated customer amenities. The expansion creates approximately 100 new positions, bringing the Augusta workforce to roughly 175 employees.
The new engine shop at the facility is specifically designed to handle increasing demand for Honeywell HTF7000 engine maintenance and overhaul services. StandardAero holds the distinction of being the exclusive independent heavy overhaul provider for that engine platform. The airframe maintenance operations moved into the expanded hangar first, with the engine shop targeted for full operation by the first half of 2026.
CEO Russell Ford said the Augusta facility has operated continuously since 1974 and that the expansion reflects long-term commitment to the business aviation market and to the region. The site services a range of large cabin business jet airframes including Bombardier, Dassault Falcon, Embraer, Gulfstream, and Hawker models. Engine and APU work includes the Honeywell TFE731 and GTCP36 auxiliary power unit in addition to the HTF7000.
Business Aviation division president Anthony Brancato cited customer demand for expanded capacity and faster turn times as the primary driver. The Augusta location expands StandardAero's national MRO footprint to support business aviation operators across North America, with the company employing nearly 7,700 people globally.
