StandardAero has marked the grand opening of a newly expanded business aviation maintenance facility at Augusta Regional Airport in Augusta, Georgia. The project increased the site by about 60 percent and is bringing roughly 100 new technically skilled jobs to the region, adding capacity for airframe and engine work on business jets.
The expansion includes a dedicated engine shop built to handle Honeywell HTF7000 engine maintenance, a powerplant used on several popular midsize business jets. The company expects the engine shop to be fully operational in the first half of 2026. The Augusta location serves Gulfstream and other business aviation operators, and the larger footprint is intended to shorten turnaround times for inspections, repairs, and scheduled overhauls.
The investment reflects broader growth in the US business aviation aftermarket, where demand for maintenance slots has tightened as fleets age and utilization stays high. Georgia has built a sizable aerospace maintenance base anchored by operations across the state, and the StandardAero project adds skilled technician roles in a field facing a persistent labor shortage. Training and apprenticeship pipelines remain a focus for operators competing for mechanics.
StandardAero has announced parallel expansions elsewhere, including added space at facilities in Florida and Ohio and a separate project in Winnipeg. The Augusta opening fits a pattern of capacity additions across the company's North American network as it positions to capture rising engine and airframe workloads through the second half of the decade.
