StandardAero has signed a multi-year LEAP LeaseTEAM agreement with global aircraft lessor Avolon, expanding the engine services provider's work on one of the industry's fastest-growing narrowbody powerplants. The agreement, announced on July 22, 2026, gives Avolon and its airline customers non-exclusive access to maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for CFM International LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines.
The LEAP-1A powers the Airbus A320neo family, and the LEAP-1B powers the Boeing 737 MAX. Avolon's fleet includes roughly 150 delivered A320neo aircraft and 54 737 MAX jets equipped with the two engine variants. Under the deal, the lessor can extend benefits to its carrier customers, including priority access to engine shop slots to reduce aircraft downtime and fixed-price terms for selected LEAP maintenance events.
Scottsdale, Arizona-based StandardAero has built a growing position in LEAP engine overhaul as the global fleet of these engines expands and early units reach their first heavy shop visits. The company said it has already completed multiple LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B performance restoration shop visits, the intensive workscope that restores engine performance after years of service.
Lessor agreements have become a key channel for engine MRO providers because leasing companies control large portions of the modern narrowbody fleet and negotiate maintenance terms on behalf of many operators. Securing lessor programs early helps shops build predictable volume as LEAP overhaul demand accelerates through the rest of the decade.
