STS Aviation Group's material services division has been selected as a prime contractor awardee on the US Air Force Commercial Common Repairable Support program, known as CASPER, which covers component repair and exchange work on the Boeing KC-46 Pegasus tanker fleet. The selection was announced on August 12.
CASPER is a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract. Companies chosen as prime awardees compete for individual task orders across a five-year ordering period, and the contract ceiling exceeds $470 million across all awardees.
The scope covers aftermarket services tied to keeping tanker components serviceable: repair management, component exchanges, technical documentation, quality compliance, and coordination with approved repair vendors. Work of this type sits between the Air Force and the shops that overhaul individual parts, and it shapes how quickly a tanker held out of service returns to flying status.
PJ Anson, chief executive of STS Aviation Group, called the award a step in the growth of the company's defense sustainment work and said the KC-46 is a critical platform where readiness depends on speed and accountability.
The KC-46 fleet has drawn sustained attention from Air Force maintenance planners as deliveries continue and the aircraft takes on a larger share of aerial refueling missions. Component support contracts such as CASPER give the service a pool of commercial repair sources to draw on alongside its organic depots.
