Combined capital expenditure from Meta, Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon is on pace to reach $760 billion in 2026, according to a Statista chart compiled from company financial reports. The figure marks a sharp jump from prior years and reflects the scale of investment now flowing into AI infrastructure, much of it tied directly to new data center construction and expansion.

Amazon's capital expenditure is projected to reach $220 billion in 2026, the highest among the four companies, based on the upper limit of the company's latest guidance issued in late July. Alphabet follows at $205 billion, also based on its most recent projection. Microsoft's calendar-year spending is estimated at $190 billion based on quarterly totals through its April 2026 outlook, while Meta's upper-end 2026 projection stands at $145 billion.

All four companies have increased capital spending every year since 2022, with the steepest jump occurring between 2025 and 2026. Amazon's spending alone has grown from roughly $60 billion in 2022 to the projected $220 billion this year, a level of investment concentrated heavily in data center campuses, custom AI chips and the power infrastructure needed to run them.

The spending totals underscore how thoroughly data center buildout has come to dominate the capital plans of the largest US technology companies, with each firm now investing sums that rival the annual GDP of a mid-size country.
