Worldwide data center market revenue is forecast to reach $538.91 billion in 2026, according to Statista Market Insights, an increase of 11.6 percent over the prior year.
Network infrastructure carries the largest share of that spending, with projected 2026 revenue of $284.01 billion. Statista defines the market around hardware that businesses buy to build and maintain IT infrastructure, covering servers, storage systems and network equipment. The definition excludes cloud hosting services such as AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform, along with software licenses.
A separate Statista figure spanning all segments of the global data center market puts 2026 revenue at $572.99 billion. Cloud IT infrastructure spending, tracked as its own line, is forecast at $133.7 billion for the year.
The United States remains the leading country by number of data centers. Statista lists the United States, Germany, India, Japan and China as the key regional markets, with figures modeled from company financial statements and national statistical offices using a top-down approach.
Dell, HPE, Huawei and Ericsson appear among the key vendors in the category. Statista attributes near-term demand to growth in edge computing, where operators place capacity closer to end users to cut latency for real-time processing tied to 5G and connected devices, and to rising interest in energy efficient facility designs.
