Worldwide revenue in the data center market is modeled at roughly 539 billion US dollars in 2026, according to a Statista forecast series covering 2017 through 2031 that was updated on Aug. 17, 2026.

The series shows a market that took years to reach its current pace. Revenue sat near 268 billion dollars in 2017 and then moved sideways, with modeled values between about 296 billion and 318 billion from 2019 through 2021. The trajectory changed after 2022. By 2025 the figure reached about 481 billion dollars, and the 2026 estimate adds roughly 12 percent on top of that.

From there the forecast points steadily upward. Statista models about 594 billion dollars in 2027, 648 billion in 2028, 700 billion in 2029 and 757 billion in 2030, reaching close to 810 billion dollars in 2031. That path represents growth of about 50 percent between 2026 and 2031, and it roughly triples the 2017 level across the full 15 year span.

The shape of the curve matches the capital cycle now visible across the sector, where operators order power equipment, cooling systems and network hardware years ahead of delivery. Annual gains in the series run near 55 billion dollars a year from 2023 onward, a pace the model holds through the end of the forecast window.

Statista notes that every figure in the series is a modeled value for each year from 2017 through 2031 rather than a reported financial result.
