Flexential is adding a fifth data center to its Atlanta-area portfolio, with plans for a 48,000-square-foot, 4.5-megawatt facility in Norcross, Georgia. The new building, called Norcross 2, will sit next to the company's existing Atlanta-Norcross data center at 2755 Northwoods Parkway in Gwinnett County and will be served by Georgia Power. Construction is expected to bring the facility online in the first half of 2028.
The expansion will push Flexential's total Atlanta-area footprint to roughly 800,000 square feet and 73 megawatts of capacity, the company said. Atlanta remains one of the top data center markets in North America, drawing enterprises that want proximity to dense network connections and room to scale.
Ryan Mallory, CEO of Flexential, said infrastructure requirements are changing quickly as customers look for facilities that can support a wide range of computing densities. He said the company's development model delivers CPU and GPU ready environments under one roof, combined with a power and grid efficient design meant to keep pace with demand.
Flexential now operates more than 40 data centers and roughly 360 megawatts of capacity online or under development across 18 U.S. markets. Beyond Norcross, the company has additional facilities under construction in Douglasville, Georgia, as well as in Colorado and Oregon. The company has also raised close to $1 billion in outside investment over the past year and a half to fund its expansion plans, alongside an earlier asset backed securities offering.
The Norcross 2 project adds to a wave of colocation growth across metro Atlanta, where operators including Digital Realty, QTS, and DC Blox continue to add capacity to meet rising enterprise and AI demand.
