Google confirmed plans to build a second data center campus in Georgia, selecting a 270-acre site in LaGrange, a city southwest of Atlanta. Construction Connect reported the project adds to Google's existing data center footprint in Douglas County, reinforcing Georgia's position as a major hub for technology infrastructure investment.
The LaGrange facility will serve growing demand for cloud computing, AI processing, and data storage services. Google did not disclose the total capital investment figure for the LaGrange campus, but data centers of this scale typically represent multi-billion dollar commitments over their construction and buildout phases.
Georgia's combination of available land, favorable utility rates, and existing workforce in the technology sector has attracted repeated investment from major cloud providers. State and local economic development officials indicated that tax incentive negotiations were part of the site selection process for the LaGrange campus.
