PowerHouse Data Centers, a division of American Real Estate Partners, has filed plans to build a new data center campus in Westlake, Texas, a town spanning Denton and Tarrant counties north of Fort Worth. Site plans call for a facility known as the Circle T Data Center on nearly 88 acres at the corner of US Highway 377 and Westport Parkway, with up to four buildings totaling 300 megawatts of capacity.
Westlake's planning and zoning commission approved the site plans this week after officials reviewed the proposal at a town meeting. The listed property owner is Circle T Owner LP, with PowerHouse chief executive Doug Fleit named as a contact in the filing. City documents indicate the first building on the site is permitted by right, while any additional structures will require a specific use permit.
Utility provider Oncor has agreed to build a 350 megawatt substation to serve the project at no cost to Westlake residents, with the same infrastructure also supporting the town's water pump station. Westlake Mayor Kim Greaves said the project was evaluated to expand the town's tax base and help fund public infrastructure and the local school system while limiting disruption to residents.
The filing adds to PowerHouse's growing Texas footprint. The company recently topped out a 201 megawatt facility in Irving and is developing a 768 acre campus in Ellis County with Provident Data Centers, along with a proposed site near Austin. Founded in 2022, PowerHouse now lists 11 active and planned Texas projects representing roughly 10 gigawatts of capacity, part of a broader pipeline spanning eight states.
