SpaceXAI, the company formerly known as xAI, is adding two more data center clusters to its Colossus 2 campus around Southaven, Mississippi, according to posts Elon Musk made on X on October 31 and reported by DeSoto County News on November 1.

Musk named the clusters Gun Range and Spam. Gun Range takes its name from a former local police department gun range that the company bought. It is set up like the existing Macroharder and Minihard clusters, holds roughly 220,000 Nvidia GB300 chips configured for training AI models, and is slated to be operational by the end of November.

Spam takes its name from a building that Musk said previously housed Hormel products. It is planned to hold about 200,000 GB300 chips configured for inference, which Musk said requires simpler networking and less than half the fiber of a training cluster. Musk gave December as the operational target.

Musk said the full Colossus 2 campus is expected to reach about 1.2 million Nvidia Blackwell-generation chips by the end of the year. He did not provide street addresses for the new clusters, and DeSoto County News noted that the figures have not been independently verified.

The Southaven operations include a power plant on Stanton Road where gas turbines supply the data centers. Through its parent company MZX Tech LLC, SpaceXAI has bought homes near the plant and leased a warehouse along Highway 51.

Regulatory and legal items are also open. The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality is seeking about $6.1 million in potential penalties related to the Southaven sites. On October 30, a federal judge denied the company's motion to dismiss an air pollution lawsuit brought by the NAACP and environmental groups over turbine permits.
