Nano Nuclear Energy has signed a non-binding strategic commercial framework with data center developer Tillman Digital Gateway to explore deploying its Kronos micro modular reactor across planned AI industrial campuses in the United States. The agreement names Nano Nuclear as the developer's anticipated preferred nuclear technology provider and sets a structure for the two firms to collaborate on reactor deployment.
The partners are targeting 2 GW of nuclear capacity by the middle of the 2030s and 6 GW or more by 2040. Any deployment remains subject to definitive general and site-specific agreements, customer commitments, financing, regulatory approvals and other project requirements.
Kronos is a stationary high-temperature gas-cooled reactor designed to produce 15 MW of electricity, with units intended to run as long as 20 years between refuelings. The companies said they intend to work together across the nuclear project development lifecycle, covering site evaluation and diligence, licensing and development planning, customer engagement and project deployment.
Chief Executive James Walker described the framework as a milestone in the company's customer acquisition strategy, pointing to the developer's infrastructure experience and access to capital. He said planning for nuclear at the earliest stages of site development creates a practical pathway to introduce reliable baseload power as campuses scale. Sachit Ahuja, co-president of Tillman Global Holdings, said meeting the power requirements of next-generation AI infrastructure requires planning for a scalable power architecture that will serve campuses for decades.
The agreement is Nano Nuclear's second in the digital infrastructure sector, following a memorandum of understanding with Super Micro in May. Amazon, Google, Oracle, Switch and Equinix have signed comparable arrangements with advanced reactor firms in recent years.
