NuScale Power reported third quarter 2026 results on November 5, with cash, cash equivalents and short- and long-term investments of $1.9 billion at the end of the period. The Oregon-based company develops the NuScale Power Module, a small modular reactor rated at 77 MWe that can be configured in up to 12 modules for 924 MWe. NuScale states that its design is the first and only small modular reactor certified by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
The main milestone of the quarter was an agreement with Doosan Enerbility to fabricate the upper reactor coolant system, which NuScale describes as the most complex and foundational component of the module. The company said the contract moves its NRC-approved design into physical production of its first commercial module. NuScale also reported two supply chain steps: deploying nuclear-specific artificial intelligence tools developed with Nuclearn and NPX across engineering and knowledge management work, and fabricating first-of-a-kind reactor components with MillenniTEK.
NuScale said it continues to support its commercial partner ENTRA1 Energy in discussions with the Tennessee Valley Authority about what the company calls the largest commercial nuclear power deployment program in US history.
On the financial side, revenue fell $8.0 million and cost of sales fell $5.4 million from the prior-year quarter, mainly because the earlier period included revenue from Fluor's front-end engineering and design Phase 2 services for the RoPower project, which was completed in late 2025. Research and development expense rose $7.0 million, including $6.7 million in higher costs tied to advancing the design maturity of module components. General and administrative expense decreased by $491.3 million, and investment income rose $13.4 million on a stronger cash position and higher interest rates.
