Contango Silver and Gold Inc. (NYSE American: CTGO) released an update on September 8, 2026 covering its 2026 field programs. The third mining campaign of the year at the Manh Choh mine in Alaska began on August 20. Modifications that allow recovery of higher grade sulfide ore from the South Pit were completed at the Fort Knox mill and are operating as planned. The campaign is expected to run through September, with output reported in third quarter financial statements due in November.
At the Lucky Shot property, the surface drill program finished on August 29 after 29 holes across five drilling platforms totaling roughly 5,800 meters. The first batch of assays was released on September 2, and the remaining surface results are scheduled for next month. An underground program follows, opening with about 1,100 meters from five drill stations aimed at the newly identified KM vein system, then moving to the 2080E development in October to test the eastern extent of the L2 vein. Roughly 10,000 meters of underground drilling is planned through February 2027 to support a feasibility study slated for completion in 2027.
At the Johnson Tract critical metals project, permitting for the access road and barge facility remains on schedule and is tracked on the federal FAST-41 dashboard. Geotechnical drilling inside the road and barge easements is finished, the portal pad is complete, and environmental and cultural baseline studies are close to done. The project initial assessment outlined a post tax net present value of 615.4 million dollars at a 5 percent discount rate and a post tax internal rate of return above 60 percent at a 4,000 dollar gold price.
