Energy Fuels has reported that it expects to meet its full-year 2026 uranium production guidance by the middle of the year, ahead of the schedule the company set at the start of the period. The producer operates the White Mesa Mill in Utah, currently the only conventional uranium processing facility operating in the United States.
The company planned to complete its current uranium ore processing campaign at the mill by the end of June 2026 and to rebuild ore stockpiles from its conventional mining operations. Beginning in July 2026, Energy Fuels expects to start further modifications to the existing Phase 1 rare earth element circuits at White Mesa, extending the facility's capability beyond uranium into separated rare earth production.
Market conditions have supported domestic producers through the first half of the year. Contract pricing for uranium has reached its highest level in 14 years, and a Section 232 status report due in July could introduce domestic sourcing requirements that would further favor U.S. output.
Other producers have reported comparable momentum. Cameco recorded first quarter uranium sales volumes of 7.8 million pounds, a 13 percent increase, at a realized price of $65.45 per pound. The company's 2026 guidance calls for 29 to 32 million pounds delivered at $85 to $89 per pound. Uranium Energy Corp continues to advance in-situ recovery projects across Texas and Wyoming, while Denison Mines received regulatory approval in February 2026 to begin construction at its Phoenix asset, with production targeted for mid-2028.
