Hecla Mining Company, the largest primary silver producer in the United States, reported second-quarter 2026 results showing silver output of 4.2 million ounces, an 8% increase from the prior quarter. The company's Lucky Friday mine in Idaho set a new quarterly production record of 1.5 million ounces of silver, while the Greens Creek operation in Alaska contributed 2.1 million ounces of silver along with more than 14,000 ounces of gold.

Companywide revenue totaled $334 million for the quarter, a pullback from the prior quarter's record that the company attributed mainly to lower realized silver and gold prices rather than to production shortfalls. Cash generated from continuing operations rose 61% year over year to $175 million, and free cash flow from continuing operations more than doubled from a year earlier to $136 million, the second-best quarterly free cash flow figure in company history.

Hecla ended the quarter with $483 million in cash on hand and no long-term debt outside of capital lease obligations. Its $225 million revolving credit facility remained essentially undrawn. Company officials pointed to Lucky Friday's record quarter and contributions from all producing assets as evidence that operations remained on track even as metal prices cooled from earlier highs in the year.

The results add to a string of strong output figures from major U.S. silver producers this year, as domestic mines respond to sustained industrial demand from solar panel manufacturing, electric vehicle production, and electronics.
