Premier American Uranium reported mid-season drilling results this week from its Kaycee project in Wyoming's Powder River Basin, one of the largest uranium exploration efforts underway in the United States. The Toronto-based company has completed 50 holes and 41,960 feet of drilling since May, about 42 percent of a planned 100,000-foot program for 2026, across two target areas called Rustler and Outpost.
Thirteen of 22 holes drilled at Rustler intersected uranium mineralization at grades of 0.02 percent equivalent U3O8 or higher. One hole, RT26-085, intersected 3.5 feet grading 0.135 percent eU3O8, including a 2-foot section grading 0.204 percent. Drilling has confirmed uranium mineralization in two separate sandstone units within the lower Wasatch Formation, the same rock formation that hosts producing uranium deposits in the neighboring Pumpkin Buttes district. At the Outpost target, seven of 27 completed holes also returned qualifying grades.
The Kaycee project covers more than 42 square miles along a 36-mile mineralized trend, with over 110 miles of identified roll front structures already mapped. Company geologists describe it as the only project in the Powder River Basin where all three historically productive uranium-bearing formations sit on the same land package. Premier American Uranium holds additional exploration ground in New Mexico's Grants Mineral Belt and in Wyoming's Great Divide Basin, backed by institutional investors including Sachem Cove Partners and IsoEnergy.
The results add to a string of domestic uranium exploration announcements this year as US utilities and federal agencies work to rebuild a domestic supply chain for reactor fuel.
