Wyoming-based Ur-Energy reported its strongest quarterly production on record for the second quarter of 2026, processing and packaging 140,873 pounds of U3O8, a 47 percent increase over the first quarter and the most uranium drummed in a single quarter since the company began ramping up its Lost Creek operation in 2022.
The company also shipped nearly 150,000 pounds of U3O8 to its conversion facility during the quarter, up 44 percent from the prior quarter and 42 percent from the same period last year.
CEO Matt Gili described the quarter as an inflection point for the company, pointing to the continued ramp-up at Lost Creek alongside the start of production at the newly authorized Shirley Basin site. Together, the two in-situ recovery projects give Ur-Energy combined annual licensed production and toll-processing capacity of 4.2 million pounds of U3O8, positioning the company as the largest and fastest-growing ISR uranium producer in the United States.
Shirley Basin received final state regulatory approval to begin full production operations in late June, clearing the way for uranium-loaded resin to be transported to Lost Creek for processing and shipment.
The results land amid a broader push to expand domestic uranium supply. U.S. utilities remain heavily dependent on foreign sources for nuclear fuel, and producers like Ur-Energy are positioning their in-situ recovery projects to help close that gap as demand from reactors and AI-driven data center growth continues to build.
