Uranium Energy Corp has commenced production at its Burke Hollow project in South Texas after receiving approval from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, bringing online the world's newest in situ recovery uranium mine and the first new ISR operation in the United States in more than a decade.

Burke Hollow advanced from a grassroots discovery in 2012 to a producing mine in 2026 and ranks as the largest ISR uranium discovery in the United States in the past decade. Only about half of the roughly 20,000 acre property has been explored to date, leaving substantial room for resource growth. Production from the site will be processed at UEC's Hobson Central Processing Plant, which is licensed to produce up to 4 million pounds of uranium per year.

Combined with recent capacity expansion approvals at its Christensen Ranch operation in Wyoming, the startup makes UEC the only US uranium company operating two active ISR hub and spoke production platforms. The milestone comes as US utilities and policymakers work to rebuild a domestic uranium supply chain that still covers only a fraction of the roughly 46 to 47 million pounds of annual US reactor requirements, with the balance imported.
