The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has removed two more electronic logging devices from its list of registered ELDs, bringing the total revoked since January 2025 to 67 devices. Safe ELD, produced by Bemorex Inc. in both iOS and Android versions, and MYLOGS ELD, produced by Mylogs Inc., were both found to fall short of the minimum technical requirements set out in 49 CFR Part 395, Appendix A to Subpart B.
Carriers running either device were given roughly 60 days to move to a compliant unit. That window closed on July 7, 2026. Before that date, federal and state safety officials were instructed to hold off on citing drivers using the revoked units and to review hours of service data through paper logs, logging software, or the device display as a backup. Drivers were told to stop using the revoked devices and record duty status on paper or approved logging software in the interim.
From July 7 forward the enforcement posture changed. A motor carrier still operating with either revoked device is treated as running without an ELD at all. Inspectors encountering a driver using one are directed to cite 395.8(a)(1) and place the driver out of service under Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance out of service criteria.
The two revocations sit inside a broader enforcement push. More than 250 devices have now been pulled from the registered list since the agency began auditing self certified providers more aggressively. Fleets carry the compliance burden, because responsibility for running a registered device rests with the carrier rather than the vendor.
