Highline Warren will build a new logistics and operations center in McDonough, Georgia, backing the project with a $170 million multi year investment. The Henry County facility is expected to create 160 jobs. McDonough sits along the Interstate 75 corridor south of Atlanta, a stretch that has absorbed a large share of the region warehouse and distribution growth over the past decade.
The announcement arrives alongside other freight infrastructure activity in metro Atlanta. A federal infrastructure package directs just under $21 million toward fiber connections intended to improve data connectivity between freight vehicles and roadside systems. That funding sits inside a broader $26 million allocation that includes a transportation project in Cobb County.
Georgia freight network also gained a major highway link this month. The Georgia Department of Transportation opened the $126 million Brampton Road Connector in Savannah on July 16, a four lane route joining the Port of Savannah to the Interstate 16 corridor that feeds Atlanta. The connector removes at grade rail crossings and shifts truck traffic away from surrounding neighborhoods.
Cost pressure remains the counterweight to the investment activity. Georgia carriers report rising fuel expense as diesel prices climb, with state business coverage citing increases of roughly a third over the comparison period.
In Cobb County, the local development authority approved tax abatements for a confidential project identified as Project Locust, planned for a 4.5 acre site off Interstate North Parkway. Authority Brands separately committed $13 million to a new Cobb County headquarters expected to add 390 jobs.
