Open Road Ventures, a Valparaiso, Indiana-based freight brokerage holding company, announced it is adding three executives to its leadership ranks as it continues acquiring brokerage firms across the transportation sector.
Adam Rodery joins the company as vice president of strategy and integration. He previously held senior roles at Kansas City Southern Railway and MODE Global, where he led one of North America's largest intermodal groups during a career spanning more than 25 years in the sector. At Open Road Ventures, Rodery will work on growth strategy for companies the firm acquires.
Jack Ciattarelli and Ryan Schreiber join as the first two members of the company's board of advisors. Ciattarelli brings experience building, acquiring and selling businesses, along with a background in New Jersey state government and financial policy committees. Schreiber has spent nearly two decades in freight brokerage and technology, including early work applying artificial intelligence to logistics operations, and currently serves as chief growth officer at Metafora.
The company said the leadership additions follow its acquisition of Double Stack Logistics and come as smaller freight brokerages face new legal and compliance pressure following the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in Montgomery v. Caribe Transport II. Open Road Ventures said the ruling has pushed some small and mid-sized brokerages toward larger organizations for operational support as compliance costs rise.
Founding members Mike Riccio, Ron Faherty, David Antonson and John Kellenberger will welcome the three new additions to the company on Sept. 1.
